How to Clean a Shower Head of Calcium Build Up

Mix together a solution of 50-percent white vinegar and 50-percent water.

Microwave the solution for 45 seconds.

Unscrew the shower head from the shower arm.

Soak the shower head overnight, face down in the solution.

Rinse thoroughly and dry with a cloth.

Brush off any remaining deposits.

Repeat the process if calcium deposits remain on the shower head.

Screw the shower head back onto the shower arm.

Tips & Warnings
Always heat the solution; at room temperature, the solution takes three hours before it will start removing the deposits.
Wear rubber gloves if you have open wounds on your hands. Vinegar will sting in an open cut. Do not over-tighten a plastic shower head, or the setting could crack.
