Dinner parties are a fun way to get together anytime of the year.

Dinner parties are a reason for people to get together and catch up over some food and maybe wine or other beverages. Planning a dinner party is one way to get creative and personalize every detail. Why not customize invitations as well? Make invitations that incorporate your decor and menu to send to your guests instead of buying them. You'll save money and have a chance to be creative while offering your guests a clue to your dinner's atmosphere.

Instructions

    • 1

Load your printer with copy paper. Use your word-processing software to choose a font style, color and size, and type the words that you want to appear on the front of your invitations. Some examples would be, "You're invited", "Please come to our dinner party", or "Amelia is throwing a dinner party, and we want you there".

    • 2

Double-space and repeat the words several times on the same page. Print them out and cut out the words for the individual invitations. Use glue to atttch them to the from of your card stock. Be sure to smooth them on carefully to avoid bubbles or glue drips.

Use your word-processing program to also type out the inside message. Include the time, place, and reason for your dinner party. Also, if you want to include the menu, type it under the other information. If you do type out a menu, use a font two sizes smaller than the rest of the information to save space on your card.

Double-space the inside information and repeat it for each invitation. Print the page, and cut them out carefully. Glue them on the inside of your card stock.

Ribbons add an elegant touch to invitations.

Use a hole punch to make two holes, about an inch apart on the top of the front side of your card stock. Cut a 4-inch section of ribbon or twine, and put the ends through the holes from the inside so that both ends hang out of the front. Tie the twine or ribbon into a decorative bow.
