How to Create Slideshows With Transitions

With the iPhoto application, which is part of Apple's iLife suite of software, Mac users can organize large numbers of pictures from digital cameras or the Internet. After separating the photos into albums or events, you can use iPhoto to design and play slideshows of your favorite images. While designing the slideshow, you have the option to use several different transitions between pictures.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mac computer running OS X 10.5 or later
  • iLife 09 software
  1. Step 1

    Launch the iPhoto application by clicking on the icon in the Dock on your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Find the album or event that you want to use for the slideshow from the list on the left side of the iPhoto window.

  3. Step 3

    Highlight the images in the album or event that you want to be included in the slideshow.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the "Slideshow" icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the window.

  5. Step 5

    Go to the "Settings" tab in the slideshow setup window.

  6. Step 6

    Check the box next to "Transition" and then choose a type of transition to use in the slideshow. The options include fade, mosaic, flip and dissolve.

  7. Step 7

    Use the bar underneath the transition settings to adjust the speed of the transition.

  8. Step 8

    Click on the "Play" button to view your slideshow with transitions in full-screen mode.
