How to Connect Alligator Clips

  • Knife or wire stripper

      Use a utility knife or wire strippers to remove the plastic coating from 7 to 8 mm of the end of a piece of wire. Slide any insulating sleeve for the clip down the lead wire. Twist the the exposed wires tightly together.

      Slip the stripped end of the wire into the hole in the base of the alligator clip and bend the connector back along the base.

      Apply the solder gun and solder to the wire until the wire is secured in place.

      Crimp the tab in place.

    • 5

      Slide the insulating cover into place over the clip.
