Neopets is an online gaming community where you can create a pet, take care of it and feed it. The Neopets website is a multifunctional site that allows gamers to compete against other people. When on Neopets, you can create a separate identity from your own with an avatar. Avatars are mini pictures next to your name that identify you on the Web site. Neopets.com gives you the power to change your avatar whenever you like.

Sign in to your Neopets account. Your account information should be on the upper right corner of the page. Click on the "Boards" tab.

View your avatar preferences. You can view your avatar preferences after you click on the "Boards" tab. When you are on the "Boards" tab, a drop-down menu will open. Go down to "Preferences."

Modify your Neopets avatar. Once you are in the "Preferences" page, there will be a drop-down menu that will allow you to change your avatar to various characters. There will be instances when you will be granted special avatars while browsing the Neopets website. The special avatar will pop up and indicate that you can use it at any time; this is rare but it happens. Enable the special avatar on the "Preferences" page.
On this page, when you are changing a regular avatar, you will see a preview of your current one. When you select a new avatar you will see a preview of it on the right side.

Go to the bottom of the page and click submit. Your avatar will automatically change and will be ready for use on the Neopets forums and in the game rooms.
