In order to call a place like Singapore, you'll have to use more than just the standard seven digits used in the United States. You have to first dial the digits to get you out of your country, and then you'll have to dial Singapore's country code.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Dial the digits to get a line outside of your country first. In the United States for example, this is "011."

  2. Step 2

Punch in the country code for Singapore, which is "65."

  3. Step 3

Dial the rest of the number. This should be 8 digits. If it's a landline, it will likely be either "3" or "6" for the first number.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look up the correct code to get outside of your county if your somewhere besides the United States. The website "How to Call Abroad" will help you with this. Find a specific number in Singapore if you don't know it already. You can use an internet phone book to help you.
  • Be aware that charges for calling a number outside of your country are usually higher, even for cell phones.
