A few weeks ago my daughter and I was out shopping and had a little accident with my cd's. When I opened the door of my four wheel drive truck to get out several of my cd's fell out of the holder on my sun visor. My daughter had a fit and I told her not to worry for I knew how to fix them. Her response was sure right mama, this I will have to see, for I have had to throw several of mine away with less scratches in them than those.
Well we finished our shopping and when I took her back to her apartment I carried in the cd's and told here to play one. Naturally it would not play right so I told her what to get and she did and I showed her how to fix them.
My daughter was in shock at what I had done and told me that this was a great way to save scratched cd's and dvd's and will also work on play station cd's.
My daughter also suggested that I share this information with you, so lets get started.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • plain non-abbrasive toothpaste
  • a cotton cloth
  1. Step 1

The first thing you will need to do is to clean the cd with water to make sure that there is no sand or anything on it that will scratch it further.

  2. Step 2

Now take some of the toothpaste and put it on the cd. Now take your finger and cover the cd completely with the toothpaste. Now take the cotton cloth and gently polish the cd using your finger and in a circular motion.

  3. Step 3

After you have finished polishing the cd, rinse it well with water and dry with a soft paper towel or clean cotton cloth.
Now your cd or dvd is polished, cleaned and ready to use. You can also do this on play station cd's.'
This worked great for my cd's and my daughters dvd's but depending on how damaged the cd's are this procedure may not always work for you but give it a try you might be surprised at just how well it does work.
