Step 1
If you don't quite know what I am speaking of when I say persecuted Christians, I can suggest reading a book called Jesus Freaks by DC Talk, Singing Through The Night by Anneke Companjen, or one of another handfuls of books out there, which are each filled with true stories about and by persecuted Christians both in the past and present.
-
Step 2
Visit www.prisoneralert.com, where you may learn the current heart warming and moving stories of persecuted believers all over the world. Here, you may also find a list of people to write to, a set of pre-written verses and quotes in foreign languages, and addresses of where you may send your letters to. (see additional resources)
-
Step 3
Also, visit www.opendoorsusa.org, another site dedicated to helping persecuted Christians all over the world. Here, you are able to write your own letter and send it to the organization where they can translate and send letters for you. (see additional resources)
-
Step 4
Be mindful of the risk when addressing your letter with a home address, and never mention the name of the source of your information or the name of any organization. It is not dangerous for a prisoner or person to receive letters from individuals, but if an organization is mentioned they may be accused of links with ‘foreign organizations’ and receive harsher sentences. Also be mindful of what you write, and never write negative comments about other governments or religions.

Step 5
Prayer is Key! Pray for the wisdom and guidance to always make the right decisions, and that God will give you the right words to share. Keep your heart focused on the needs of those who you are writing to, and keep them in your prayers.
