Things You'll Need:
- round yo-yos or fabric to make the circles for yoyos
- needle and thread
- scissors
- ribbon for hanger
-
Step 1
Cut three circles from a Christmas fabric or fabric of choice. Remember that the yoyos are less than half the size of the starting circle. If you use a round size of 3 1/2 inches, the ornament will be about 1 1/2 inch size.
-
Step 2
Fold about 1/4 inch along the edge of each circle and stitch all around. Pull it tight to the center and tack. Stitch the same for the other three. See Resources below if you need more information about making the basic yoyo design for crafts.
-
Step 3
Take three yoyos and attach them at the top with a needle and thread. Attach with a needle and thread at the bottom, with all three meeting in the middle.
-
Step 4
Cut a ribbon in a color of your choice and about 8 inches long to use for a hanger. We used red ribbon to help you see the details. Using a needle and thread, attach the ribbon at the top in exactly the same spot as you attached the three round yoyos together.
-
Step 5
Tie a bow at the top of the ribbon, or you may want to tie a little bow right at the top of the ornament and an overhand knot at the top. You can also let the ends of the ribbon hang down and place a metal hanger in the center of the bow.
Use your creativity to make yoyo Christmas ornaments in a round ball three-dimensional shape.
