Parents Who Want to Put the Hottest Toys Under the Tree Need to Start Shopping Early.

Every year, there are some toys that become wildly popular. Many parents frantically ransack the store shelves in search of the it toy that their children are longing for. However, a few smart parents finish their shopping well ahead of the mad rush. These parents knew how to find the hottest Christmas toy trends before they were heavily promoted by the media and were able to easily shop for them online or at their local toy stores before they were sold out. Here is how you can do the same thing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Read toy trade show trend reports. These reports usually come out in the spring after the trade show, which is where some of the year's must have toys are introduced.

  2. Step 2

Next, watch kids’ television shows your kids are hooked on and pay special attention to all of the toy commercials. These commercials are often where kids find out what toys are coming out. They talk about the toys they see with their friends and get really excited about toys that have good commercials.

  3. Step 3

Still need ideas? Read the movie guide section of your local newspaper and keep an eye on summer blockbusters. These big movies can have a major impact on the hottest toys for Christmas. For example, a new comic book movie will mean a renewed interest in action figures and related merchandise.

  4. Step 4

Finally, as you get closer to the holidays, look at the different store advertisements and notice the toys that appear over and over again. Those toys are likely to become hot simply because of the repeated exposure they are receiving.
