Having good hand eye coordination is essential when it comes to playing any sport. Especially sports like tennis and basketball which require precision ball placement. Great hand eye coordination is a trait that most athletes in the top of their fields posses. Some people are born with a slight advantage over others, but like all behavior, hand eye coordination is learned. So if you were born with poor hand eye coordination, don't worry, there are exercises that you can practice to improve your hand eye coordination.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Basket ball
  • Golf ball
  1. Step 1

Take a hand eye coordination test. Its not important but it is fun to see where you rank. This way you can tell if you have improved at all after you have practiced your hand eye coordination for a while. There are a few free hand eye tests available on the web. Make sure to write down your score so you can compare it later.

  2. Step 2

Start off with something easy like playing catch. Now if your hand eye coordination is really bad, start off playing catch with a basketball or baseball. Just toss it back and forth with a friend or relative. Once you get good and rarely drop it, start moving while you throw the ball. Just walk side by side and toss the ball to one another.

  3. Step 3

Switch to a smaller ball. Now that you are feeling comfortable with the larger ball, substitute it for a golf ball or bouncy ball. This will be a little harder to catch but you will get use to it. Once your comfortable with the smaller ball, start walking while you toss it and then eventually running.

  4. Step 4

When you feel you have mastered this, try using one hand. Switch it up, using both your left and right hands. You can even try catching the ball behind your back or between your legs if you are feeling really tricky. Just practicing these simple hand eye coordination games are all you need to improve your hand eye coordination fast.
