Step 1
A photo scavenger hunt is much like a regular scavenger, except you take pictures of the objects you find. This gives you a lot of room to be creative and make interesting clues, but first thing’s first—you need to pick a location!
-
Step 2
The mall is always a good choice, lots of items to look for and things to do. The grocery store can also be a fun location, or maybe just outside in a park. All of these locations are great to make a photo scavenger hunt.
-
Step 3
Once you have picked a good location you need to do a bit of planning. How many people will be involved, how many cameras do you need, and how long will the photo scavenger hunt take?
-
Step 4
Once you have a general outline for your photo scavenger hunt, you are ready to begin writing the clues—this is by far the best part of planning.
-
Step 5
Be creative with your clues. Find famous actor look a-likes, play dress up, or find something out of the ordinary (for example the number 562 or a green corvette).
-
Step 6
Just to add a little variety to the mix, consider making your clues a little difficult to read. Put some in Spanish, or put them in a word scrambler. Both of these services are free online!
-
Step 7
Finally, come up with a way to score the scavenger hunt. Set a time limit, and then give the winner a small trophy or reward, nothing makes a photo scavenger hunt fun like a little bit of friendly competition!
