Step 1
Homemade onion rings are delicious and fairly easy to make. You will need, 2-3 large onions, 1-2 cups of flour, ¼ cup of Old Bay Seasoning, 1 teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 eggs, and 2 cups of corn or canola oil. You may use lard for frying if desired.

Step 2
In large skillet place 2 cups of corn oil, when oil begins to bubble then you know your oil is ready. Next, take onions and cut into medium slices, dip in egg mixture and cover with flour and Bay Seasoning. It would make it easier if you mix the Old Bay and flour together prior to coating onions.

Step 3
Finally, place breaded onion rings in oil and cook about 3 minutes each side. When onions begin to brown that you can turn to the other side, when frying is complete, drain on paper towels and serve. The Old Bay Seasoning really adds a special touch. Onion rings are best when served fresh.
