Things You'll Need:
- Toilet
- Cat
- Litter Kwitter (or similar device)
- Kitty treats
- Patience
-
Step 1
Place the Litter Kwitter (or similar device) properly on the toilet. Make sure it is securely fastened. It's best to read the directions thoroughly.
-
Step 2
Throughout the day, randomly place the cat on the toilet, as you did when you trained it to use the litter box.
-
Step 3
When the cat does it's business in the toilet, give it a treat, pet it, and encourage it. This will allow the cat to repeat the behavior.
-
Step 4
After the cat has successfully completed the training program, remove the training device. Keep an eye on the cat for the first week it uses the toilet without the device.
-
Step 5
To get the cat to flush (easier said than done) will require quite a bit more patience and effort than getting it to use the toilet itself. Watch the cat, immediately after it finishes, gently grab it's paw and place it on the handle pushing down. Give the cat a treat. Repeat until the cat has learned to flush.
