How to Change an eBay Password

EBay is the world's No. 1 online auction place. There are almost 4 million auctions on eBay each day offering a variety of goods and services. Each eBay customer (buyer or seller) must have an account in order to participate in auctions. To prevent an unauthorized access to your eBay account and its fraudulent usage you should change your password at least every other month.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Browse to the eBay website and click the tab "My eBay."

  2. Step 2

    Type your user ID and the current password in the fields and click "Sign in" get to your account.

  3. Step 3

    Select the tab "Account" under "My eBay."

  4. Step 4

    Click the link "Personal Information" under "My account" on the left panel.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Edit" in the line "Password." Note that your current password is displayed as a string of asterisks.

  6. Step 6

    Type your user ID and the current password in the fields again and click "Sign in."

  7. Step 7

    Type your current password in the field "Old Password." Then type a new one in the "New Password" field. Finally, retype the new password string in the bottom field. Click the "Submit" button.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always create a strong password for your eBay account.
