  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt, optional
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Paper plate or loose cover
  • Fork

      Measure the rice into a bowl. Pour in the water. Ensure that the water and rice reaches no higher than halfway up the bowl. If it is higher, use a bigger bowl. Add a pinch of salt, if you like.

      Put the bowl in the microwave and cover it with a paper plate or other loose cover that allows steam needs to escape. Microwave on high power for about 15 minutes.
