Make a Lazy Lasagna
Make a Lazy Lasagna

Even on your most hectic nights, a delicious, home style lasagna is only minutes away. Making lasagna isn't difficult, but it can be time consuming to build all of those layers! Why not cut back on some of your prep time by using frozen tortellini or ravioli? All of the ingredients are there for you...fresh pasta, and a delicious filling. Just add sauce and cheese, and you've got a "Lazy Lasagna" ready to pop in the oven! Try different sauces and tortellini or ravioli fillings for endless varieties.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Frozen tortellini or ravioli
  • Marinara sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Grated parmesan cheese for serving
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Bring a large pot of water to boil.

  2. Step 2

Cook tortellini or ravioli according to package directions, using approximately 1 cup of tortellini or ravioli per serving. Drain well and return to the pot.

  3. Step 3

Add approximately 3/4 cups of sauce per serving to the pot. I usually use homemade tomato basil marinara sauce. Stir to evenly coat the pasta.

  4. Step 4

Place the pasta and sauce into a large baking dish. Sprinkle the top with a thin layer of mozzarella cheese.

  5. Step 5

Cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes of baking, to melt the cheese. Serve sprinkled with grated parmesan.

Tips & Warnings
  • Leftovers freeze well
  • Be sure to use lots of sauce, so the lasagna doesn't dry out in the oven
  • Experiment with different combinations - vegetable ravioli with Alfredo sauce, and pumpkin ravioli with marscapone cheese and sage butter are a few of my favorites.
