How to Make a Decoupaged Picture Frame Refrigerator Magnet

A decoupaged picture frame refrigerator magnet is a great project for teachers and parents to do with kids. Mom and Dad would love to receive a picture of their child in this frame as a Christmas gift. Mom might like to make several and put a collage of the family on the refrigerator.

Things You'll Need

  • Water-based acrylic gesso
  • Varnish
  • 1-inch or 2-inch paintbrush
  • Wrapping paper, art prints, posters, catalogs, magazines, wallpaper
  • Scissors
  • Craft picture frame
  • Craft magnets

Instructions

      Apply gesso to picture frame with craft brush. Lay the decorative paper of your choice over picture frame. Cut out center paper and miter corners. Wrap paper around back of frame. Apply gesso over paper front and back.

      After gesso has dried completely, apply varnish and let dry.

      Choose a picture to place in frame. Cut the picture to size and scotch tape or glue to picture frame. Apply magnets to corners of picture frame. You now have a decoupaged picture frame.
