Hide Facebook Status Updates

Some people get really, really carried away with their Facebook status updates and I know this because I learned three times today already that my coworker's four year old is getting a haircut next week. I neither need to know or care about that information and honestly, it's frustrating because it distracts from the people whose status updates I do want to see. The good news here is there is a quick, anonymous way to hide the status updates of the annoying.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • A facebook account
  • An annoying person that updates their stream too much
  1. Step 1

Log in to your facebook account. When you do this, you will automatically be directed to your homepage, which will have a newsfeed.

  2. Step 2

Identify newsfeed you find annoying. Put your cursor over the status update of the offender. Leaving your cursor there, look to the immediate right of the status and you will seed the word "HIDE." There will be a drop down arrow next to it as well.

  3. Step 3

If you highlight the word, "HIDE" the drop down function will say, "Hide Name". Highlight this.

  4. Step 4

At this point, the person should no longer appear in your newsfeed. This is a great thing to do for people that status update so much it becomes virtual spam.
