Finding work from home jobs on the Internet may seem easy. However, many of the jobs that you can find quickly and easily may not be legitimate. There are also a lot of work from home job opportunities out there that don't offer the best pay or make you work too hard for what you earn. Fortunately, it is possible to find the best legitimate work from home jobs on the Internet. You just have to search for the job that's right for you and avoid the scams and deceptive marketing that is common in work from home job advertisements.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Sign up for legitimate writing sites on the Internet. Create an online portfolio of articles so that you can be approved to write for the most lucrative content sites. The content sites where you can make the most money for free include eHow, Bright Hub, Mahalo and LifeTips. Check the resources below for more lucrative online writing sites. You can also find high-paying online writing jobs on websites such as WritersWeekly.com and FreelanceWritingGigs.com. Keep in mind that these jobs require strong skills in spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting. You may also have to do considerable keyword research and search engine optimization to make money working from home on these websites. However, writing for the web is one of the best work from home jobs since you can do it for free and because it requires no previous experience to get started.

  2. Step 2

Check out an freelancing website such as GetAFreelancer.com, Guru.com, oDesk.com or Elance.com. These websites host legitimate work from home jobs in many different fields. The work from home jobs on these sites are typically quite competitive and many require experience, so put together a professional resume and cover letter to get the work from home job you really want. Also, there are many job seekers on these sites that try to win jobs by undercutting the price, so you'll have to dig to find the best work from home jobs with the best pay.

  3. Step 3

Look on an Internet job site such as CareerBuilder.com, Monster.com, Yahoo! Hot Jobs or Indeed for legitimate work from home jobs. Since these sites aren't specifically designed for freelancers, you may have to search to find home-based jobs. Try searching on terms such as "work from home," "home based job" or "freelance" to find work from home jobs on these websites.

  4. Step 4

Check out Tutor.com if you have knowledge and skills that you could teach to others. Through this website, you can find legitimate work from home jobs providing online tutoring, homework help and test preparation help to students. You must be currently enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian college or university or have a college or university degree to qualify for this work from home job. Tutor.com requires that you go through an application, screening and certification process to become a tutor for their website. However, if you are approved, you can make between $10 and $15 per hour working up to 30 hours per week. Full time employees of Tutor.com receive health, life, vision and dental benefits.

  5. Step 5

Visit a website such as CTran.com, CyberDictate.com, EightCrossings.com, TransHealth.com or MulberryStudio.com to find legitimate work from home as a transcriptionist. These websites require that you have previous experience in transcription experience to qualify for their work from home jobs.
