Things You'll Need:
- Poster board
- Permanent marker
- 1x1 piece of wood
-
Step 1
Practice your protest sign on a piece of paper.
To make sure that your final draft of your protest message will fit onto the poster board, and look the way you want it to, do a rough draft on a piece of paper first. -
Step 2
Write your message on your poster board.
Choose a message for your protest sign and write it on the poster board. Make sure that it is clear, concise, and easy to understand. Use a thick pen to make your words bold so that they can easily be read from a good distance away. -
Step 3
Keep the message appropriate.
Writing something hateful on your protest sign only makes the opposing side scoff in your direction. Try to use common sense when conjuring up your protest sign text, in order to present your argument in a way that others will be compelled to take it into consideration. -
Step 4
Mount your protest sign on a 1x1 piece of wood.
Use a wood stapler to secure the 1x1 piece of wood onto the backside of your protest sign. If it's a big sign, secure the wood higher onto the back of the sign to give it added support (you may need to grab a longer piece of wood if your poster is flimsy). You can also use glue to secure your protest sign to the wood.
