Step 1
Make the Streusel:
1 cup of firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup of slicked almonds
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons of melted butter
1 teaspoon of grated orange zest -
Step 2
Mix the brown sugar, almonds and flour together in a medium size mixing bowl.

Stir in the butter and zest. Set aside for later use.

Prepare the cake:
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon of grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2/3 cup of orange juice -
Step 5
Cream the sugar and butter together in a large mixing bowl.

Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each one is added.

Mix in the zest and vanilla extract.

Sift the flour, baking powder and baking soda together.

On low speed, alternately mix the flour mixture and orange juice into the creamed mixture. Starting and finishing with the flour mixture.

Spoon 1/2 of the cake batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch cake pan.

Now sprinkle the top of the batter with 1/2 of the streusel mixture.

Now repeat step 11.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean.

Place on a wire rack for cooling.

Prepare the glaze:
1/2 cup of confectioners sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons of orange juice -
Step 16
Stir the glaze ingredients together until sugar is completely dissolved.

Place cake on a serving dish, right side up.

Drizzle with glaze and serve!
