Temporary files are created by an operating system and/or applications for a variety of reasons. After a program is completed, temporary files are not needed anymore. But often temp files are not deleted automatically.       Login to the administrator account in Windows XP.

      Click "Start" and "All Programs."

      Open the folders "Accessories" and then "System Tools."

      Click "Disk Cleanup," and select the hard drive "C:" Then click "OK" to launch the disk cleanup window.

      Click on boxes "Temporary files," "Temporary Internet files" and "Recycle Bin" to check them. Click "OK."
