How to Clean Temp Files in Windows XP
Temporary files are created by an operating system and/or applications for a variety of reasons. After a program is completed, temporary files are not needed anymore. But often temp files are not deleted automatically. You should periodically delete temporary files using a system utility program in Windows XP since such files can occupy gigabytes on your hard drive. Commonly, temporary files are stored on the logical drive "C:"

Login to the administrator account in Windows XP.

Click "Start" and "All Programs."

Open the folders "Accessories" and then "System Tools."

Click "Disk Cleanup," and select the hard drive "C:" Then click "OK" to launch the disk cleanup window.

Click on boxes "Temporary files," "Temporary Internet files" and "Recycle Bin" to check them. Click "OK."
