How to Play Madden Online
"Madden NFL" has come a long way since its introduction in 1989, from choppy graphics to those that emulate real football action. In the past decade, a new form of gaming has opened doors to Madden players. Playing Madden online allows you to match up against players all across the world.

Connect your game console to the Internet. If you have a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, the online adapter is built into the system. The connection is in the rear. If you have a PlayStation 2, you need to purchase a network adapter to connect to the Internet.

If you are using an Xbox or Xbox 360, register for your gold membership; the gold membership is required to connect your Xbox or Xbox 360 to the Internet. The PlayStation 3 does not require a membership.

Insert your Madden disc and turn your console on. Wait for the system to load until it gets to the main menu.

Choose "Online Play" at the main menu. Sign into your EA Sports online account. If you do not have an account, choose "Register" to set one up. EA does not charge for an online gaming account.

Wait for the system to connect. You will be directed to the Madden online gaming center. Create a new matchup and wait for an opponent to join or join an existing matchup to play online.

Tips & Warnings
Set a password for any matchup you create. This will require interested opponents to send you a private message prior to joining and will give you an opportunity to check out their skill level and rating.
