How to Enter the Kabbalah Religion

Kabbalah examines the human connection with the divine by studying how the forces of the Creator act on the physical world. For centuries, Kabbalah was taught only to a select few Jewish men, who were required to be married, over the age of 40 and seriously devoted. The study of Kabbalah is now open to anyone regardless of age, race, gender or religious background. While Kabbalah's history is rooted firmly in the Judaic tradition, it is not a religion. As a student of Kabbalah, you need only to seek the answer to one fundamental question: "What is the meaning of my life?" Becoming a Kabbalahist requires the pursuit of the answer to that question by accepting the Kabbalah's view of the true nature of the Creator and human beings.

Instructions

    • 1

Seek an answer to the question of the meaning of your life beyond the corporeal world. Kabbalah teaches that the purpose of your existence is to receive boundless pleasure from the Creator.

    • 2

Accept that the Creator designed humanity with the intention of bestowing endless pleasure. According to the Bnei Baruch Learning Center website, Rav Michael Laitman, PhD writes that by understanding the true purpose in life through the wisdom of Kabbalah, "man attains perfection, tranquility, unbounded enjoyment and the ability to transcend space and time while still living in this world."

    • 3

Understand that your capacity to receive pleasure from the Creator is limited by your will to receive pleasure. According to the teachings, as the gradual progression of your will to receive moves through base needs such as food and wealth, you become prepared to receive spirituality. Much like Maslow's hierarchy of needs, the immediate, bodily requirements must be met before you attempt self-actualization.

    • 4

Seek assistance in learning to give for the sake of giving. The lessons of Kabbalah teach that you should move beyond the understanding that anything you give is rooted in the desire to receive pleasure from the act of giving. Giving without social, financial or personal reward contradicts the base nature of humanity and, according to the Kabbalah, requires the assistance of the Creator.

    • 5

Master the art of receiving as an act of giving. In this state of being, which is called the "endless world," you are open to the unending joy provided by the Creator. At this stage, the teachings say that you can receive the pleasure of the Creator as an act of providing joy to the Creator, you realize the meaning of your life is to receive pleasure from the Creator and you receive this pleasure not for your benefit but for the benefit of the Creator.
