Sometimes radiators leak. It's unfortunate, but it happens. The radiator is responsible for cooling the engine by acting as a heat sink. When the radiator is broken, it usually means that there is a leak somewhere in the radiator and it can't do its job. Fortunately, it is quite easy to fix a broken radiator, provided that the hole is not too large.
Allow the engine to cool for several hours prior to working on it.
2
Push the radiator cap on the top of the radiator down and turn it counterclockwise to unlock it and then remove the radiator cap.
3
Start the vehicle's engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
4
Start pouring in regular ground pepper. The pepper will flow to the area where the radiator is leaking and, because of its unique composition and weight, it will act like a "clot" in your radiator to plug up the hole. The pepper will not disintegrate in the system and you should notice an immediate improvement in the fluid level of the radiator.
Tips & Warnings
Do not pour in more than 4 oz. of pepper as this may clog your water pump or smaller cooling channels in the engine.
