Learn how to use eBay's search options to your advantage. Find the best deals on the web!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

In the search box type in the item you are searching for.

  2. Step 2

Then scroll down and select the "buy it now only" tab. The screen will refresh itself automatically. Now you will only see items where the seller has offered a buy-it-now option. This way, if you see a deal you don't have to wait until the end time of the auction with people bidding the price up, you can just buy it right then and there.

  3. Step 3

Scroll down and look on the right. There is a box that says sort by and inside the box E-Bay automatically sets it to "Best Match." Click on the down arrow next to that box and select "Time: Newly Listed."

This way if someone is selling something with a cheap buy-it-now price and they have just listed it, you can snag it quickly before either a) someone bids and the buy-it-now disappears, or b) someone else uses the buy-it-now.

Tips & Warnings
  • Combine this tip with a generic search item for better results. For example, when I want to browse tv shows on dvd I do not try to think of each show I want to see, I just type in "dvd season" and see what comes up. If you use too specific of a term you may miss out on items that the seller used different words to describe.
