With evolving flooring tastes, hardwood floors have become more and more popular in homes. Cleaning hardwood floors can be an involved or a simple process. The following steps take the easy route for fabulously shiny clean floors every time they are cleaned.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Broom
  • Dustpan
  • Spray Bottle
  • Murphy's Oil Soap
  • Water
  • Terry Cloth Mop
  • Dry Towel
  1. Step 1

    Start cleaning the hardwood floor by sweeping floors of any loose dirt and debris. Sweep the debris into a dust pan and dispose.

  2. Step 2

    Take the spray bottle and fill with approximately 6 parts water to one part Murphy’s Oil Soap for cleaning the hardwood floor.

  3. Step 3

    Place a dry towel over shoulder to mop up any puddles that may occur while cleaning hardwood floor. This shouldn’t happen but best to be safe.

  4. Step 4

    Spray 3 foot by 3 foot area with hardwood floor cleaning solution made in step 1 and mop with dry terry cloth mop. Continue cleaning hardwood floor in this same manner until entire floor is done.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not let standing water sit while cleaning hardwood floor as it could warp the floor.

on 9/27/2009 Simple and easy to follow.. I especially like the "best to be safe" advice, that is what I need to hear. I will give you a 5* for nothing more than that. Next time I will have a dry towel on my shoulder. :)
