In this article I will teach you how to make your own Dishwasher soap and save your self tons of money in the process and its super easy as well.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup of arm and hammer baking soda (you can also use the generic brand)
  • 1 cup of borax
  • 1 plastic bucket with a lid
  • 1 tablespoon measuring spoon
  1. Step 1

Gather all items you will need and have them at hand. Doing this makes it easier to throw it all together and clean up with out a huge ordeal.

  2. Step 2

Measure out one cup of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda and one cup of Borax. Placing in the plastic bucket. I usually let my daughter help by dumping it in the bucket. She really enjoys being able to help out.

  3. Step 3

Put the lid on the plastic bucket and shake it up mixing both ingredients very well. This is another step I will let my daughter do. She really enjoys shaking up the mix. Just make sure that the lid is on tight or you may have a bigger mess to clean up.

  4. Step 4

Load your dishwasher and measure a tablespoon into each compartment. Close your dishwasher and turn it on. Simple enough. I would recommend having the kids fill the dishwasher as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a very simple thing to make and it does a great job. As well as the brand name product with out the expense.
  • Borax is a soap product and will sting your eyes. Avoid contact with your eyes.
