    Things You'll Need

    • Steeper
    • Water
    • Teaspoon
    • Tea/Coffee
    • Tea/Coffee bags
      • 1

Place one cup of water inside the steeper for every cup of tea or coffee you desire to serve. If you desire to make five cups of tea, pour five cups of water inside the steeper.

      • 2

Place the water-filled steeper on top of the range. Do not place the top on the steeper. Allow the water to come to a boil. Some steepers will make a "whistling" noise indicating that the water has reached a boiling point.

      • 3

Place your tea/coffee bags inside the steeper. The number of bags will vary depending on the brand you are using. Read the label on the box for exact measurements. If you are making your own tea/coffee bags, you can place one teaspoon of tea/coffee in the bag for each cup of drink you desire to make. If you desire to make five cups of tea, place five teaspoons of tea inside of the bag.

      • 4

Place the top on the steeper. Turn the stove-top burner off.

      • 5

Allow the tea/coffee to steep inside the steeper for about 10 minutes. Remove the bags from the steeper when the steeping process has finished.

      • 6

Pour yourself a cup of tea/coffee. Add flavoring such as lemon, cream and sugar to suit your taste.
