Make sure the record player and speakers are turned off
-
Step 3
Gently pick up the arm that holds the needle.
-
Step 4
Grip firmly on the (often) perforated removable piece of the needle piece.

Step 5
With the other hand make sure you are holding the arm in place and pull the needle piece off.
-
Step 6
With the compressed air, blow of the arm where the needle goes and make sure it is clean.
-
Step 7
Put the new needle in the same way (but opposite) of the old needle. And gently lay it back into position.
-
Step 8
Put a record on and test your work. Listen for popping, snapping, or only one speaker playing. If it is still happening and the needle is not fualty. You should check the chords and possibly bring the player in.
