Flip up your shirt collar and lay the tie across the back of your neck with a 1 foot length of the narrow end on one side and the wide end hanging close to your knee. Cross the wide end over the narrow end 4 inches in front of the top button. All tying moves wrap the seam side of the tie around the forming knot, leaving the display side out. For better results, perform the steps in front of a mirror.

Open the horizontal wrap in front by slipping a finger behind it. Lace the wide end of the tie between the knot and the horizontal wrap. Hold the short piece and pull down on the wide side to tighten the wrap around it. Pinch the top of the wide end together with a finger between the two sides as it gets constricted to create a dimple.
