1
Create tracks or braids. The hair weave will be anchored by braids of your own hair. These braids will also act as a platform while sewing, so make sure that they are as neat and clean as possible. Start by horizontally parting your hair and cornrowing the section. Keep the braids firm but comfortable to avoid pulling and irritating the scalp. The number and placement of sections depends on the type of hairstyle and volume you'd like to achieve. For more information on cornrowing, refer to the reference link.

2
Measure and cut your hair weave. Precise measurements are necessary to create a clean-looking install and avoid wasting pieces of the weave. You can use a tape measure if necessary to measure sections of your head for the length of the wefts. When cutting the weft, cut as clean and straight as possible, and avoid cutting any strands of hair in the weave.

Sew the weave into the braid. Once you've measured and cut your weave, thread the C-shaped sewing needle and sew the weft of the weave into the braid. Sew-in weaving uses the same sewing concept as sewing clothes. Stitch a neat, uniform line directly across the weft and braid. When you reach the end of the braid, create several tight loops with your thread and cut away the excess string. C-shaped needles, weave, and weaving thread can all be found at beauty supply stores.
