How to Make Chocolate Marzipan
Marzipan is a mixture or almond paste and sugar commonly used to decorate cakes and is often eaten by itself or with the addition of a few other ingredients. Chocolate marzipan makes great dessert that both kids and adults will enjoy. Perfect served with an afternoon cup of freshly-brewed coffee or tea, chocolate marzipan is a fun, delicious treat. Things You'll Need
- Baking parchment
- 1 lb. marzipan
- 1/2 cup candied cherries, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup dried apricots, finely chopped
- 1 oz. candied ginger, finely chopped
- 12-1/2 oz. dark chocolate
- 1-1/2 oz. white chocolate
- Confectioners' sugar

Cover a cookie sheet with baking parchment. Divide the marzipan into three even balls and knead to soften.

Mix one portion of the marzipan with the dried cherries. Knead the cherries into the marzipan on a work surface lightly dusted with confectioner's sugar.

Knead the candied ginger into another portion of marzipan. Knead the apricots into the third portion.

Using your hands, form each portion of marzipan in marble-sized balls, keeping the flavors separate.

Melt the dark chocolate in a small saucepan. Dip the marzipan into the chocolate using toothpicks. Place the marzipan on the cookie sheet to chill.

Melt the white chocolate in a clean saucepan and drizzle over the marzipan balls.

Let the marzipan harden in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes to harden. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar to serve.
