According to MedicineNet.com, oxygen bars were first introduced to the United States in the 1990s. Although there have been no scientific studies supporting the benefits of breathing in concentrated oxygen through a plastic hose, many people claim that oxygen bars increase energy, reduce stress and promote a sense of relaxation. Oxygen bars are so popular that you can now buy personal units to use at home. Most portable oxygen bars cost less than $500 and can be conveniently purchased online. There are also companies that sell oxygen bars for up to eight people.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a small oxygen bar for home use from Hammacher Schlemmer. According to the company's website, the personal oxygen bar promotes relaxation by increasing the concentration of oxygen you inhale by 30 percent. The unit allows you to choose 10- or 30-minute oxygen treatment sessions. There is also a built-in speaker that plays four types of tranquil music while you receive your oxygen treatment.

  2. Step 2

Buy a portable oxygen bar from O2 Innovations. According to O2 Innovations, the 15-pound unit increases the oxygen concentration level you breathe by 40 percent. The unit comes with five nose hoses, mouthpiece filters, aromatherapy blends to enhance the scent of the unit's oxygen, a storage cover and a set of relaxation CDs to play while receiving your treatment.

  3. Step 3

If you're planning to set up an oxygen bar business or need an oxygen bar that can be used by more than one person at a time, check out the Oxygenics website. The company specializes in selling and renting colorful oxygen bars complete with flashy LED lights that change colors. Oxygenics oxygen bars can accommodate up to eight people at a time. The company also sells oxygen bar replacement parts and accessories.

on 11/16/2009 Very poorly made product. I had bought this product a few months ago and have had nothing but issues. I have tried to contact their customer service line on several occasions but have not had my call returned. The one time that I did reach an actual person, the women I spoke to was in a hurry to get off the phone with me and told me that she would return my call but I have not heard back from her as of yet. It has been over 3 weeks. Very poor product with horrbile customer service.
