How to Make Picture Frames Online

Just like the picture frames we hang on our walls, online picture frames spice up a photo, bringing both drab and well-composed pictures to life. Choose a picture frame that reflects your personality. Try out several virtual frames and then zero in on the one that works best for your image. There are many ideas you can employ, such as puzzles or wanted posters, as well as conventional frames.

Things You'll Need

  • Internet access
  • Photo for which you want to add a picture frame
  • Search online for "free picture frames" or "free photo frames." Check out the list or go to

  • Register for an account and log in.

  • Select "Create, Photo Frames" from the top navigation bar. You'll find frames for all types of photos: puzzles, ID cards, wanted signs, award plates and milk cartons.

  • Click on a picture frame template to customize it. You will be routed to a new page where you can customize your work.

  • Choose a photo from the online library or browse in your computer files to upload your own photo. To utilize the online library, select the down arrow by the image thumbnail.

  • Search the online library by typing in what you're looking for and clicking on "Search." You may also click on the tabs for "My Photos," "My Remixes," "Standard" or "Uploads."

  • Utilize "My Photos" by uploading a photo first. To use "My Remixes" you'll need to log in to access remixes you've already made; to use "Standard" images, simply click on an image and follow the wizard.

  • Upload your own photo by clicking "Browse" and locating an image on your personal computer (or laptop). Once your image uploads, you'll be routed to the "Crop Photo" screen where you can drag the handles of your photo and crop your image (optional). The maximum file size of an uploaded photo in Image Chef is 3MB.

  • Add a tint to your photo to spice up the image. You may add a phrase, symbol or animated theme to your picture frame and change the color of the phrase or symbol. Select preview to review your work.

  • Save your image and picture frame. Share it with friends via email, posts, social networks, Twitter or Facebook.
