How to Wire Rear Speakers in a Ford Ranger

If you want to replace these speakers with aftermarket speakers so you can enjoy better sound, you'll need to replace and wire the new speakers into the rear openings.     • 1

      Unscrew the four Phillips screws that hold the speaker grilles in place by turning the screws counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the grilles when the screws are loose.

      Unscrew the four 7/32-inch screws holding each of the speakers in place and remove the speakers.

      Unplug the factory wiring harnesses connected to the factory speakers.

      Cut off the factory connectors as close to the plugs as possible with a pair of wire cutters.

      Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from each wire and crimp on quick-slide connectors.

      Slide the quick-slide connectors onto the terminals of your new speakers and install them into the speaker openings by reversing the removal steps.
