How to Use the Scanner on the HP 1500
The HP PSC 1500 series printers are ink-based multifunction devices that can print, copy and scan documents. You can make copies and print photos directly, without the use of a computer. Attaching the device to a computer gives you even more options, including scanning and printing images. Use the included HP Image Zone software to take full advantage of the many capabilities of this useful home office device, including modification of scanned documents and images.

How to Scan

Verify that the PSC 1500 is connected to the computer and that the HP Digital Imaging Monitor software is running. If you are running Windows, look for the Digital Imaging Monitor icon in the lower right systems try. Macintosh computers always run the Digital Imaging Monitor software.

Load your original document on the flat-bed scanner glass and close the scanner cover.

Press "Start Scan" on the PSC 1500 front panel.

Preview the scan image in the HP Document Viewer window that appears on your computer screen Make any edits that you wish.

After making any changes to the image, press the "Accept" button on the software window.

Tips & Warnings
If you wish to stop scanning in the middle of a scan, press the "Cancel/Resume" button on the scanner device or the "Cancel" button in the software window.
If you close the HP Digital Imaging Software, you will not be able to scan images to your computer. Restart the software by opening it from your Windows Start Menu or by restarting the computer.
