1. Egg cartons are great storage cases for protecting fragile items. Next time you need a box to store Christmas ball decorations use your egg carton. Put one ornament in each segment.

2. Empty egg boxes are also great for organization. Remove the top of an empty egg carton and place the base of it in a desk drawer. This is great for holding paper clips, rubber bands, or other small desk items.

3. They can be used as ice cube trays. Everyone knows how frustrating it can be when you host a party but only have two ice cube trays to make ice cubes. Simply cut off the top of the plastic egg carton and fill the bottom with water, then place it in the freezer. You will have enough ice cubes for the party.

4. It can be used as a jewelry box. Store your rings, earrings and necklaces in the individual cups.

5. Use it as a palette for paints. Buy larger bottles of paint and when the kids want to paint, pour a little amount of each color into separate sections.
