Bonsais are dwarf trees which are planted in Japanese and Chinese ornamental gardens. Although real bonsais are skillfully sculpted, you can use this short cut to make your own bonsai tree. Here are the steps required to plant a bonsai.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Keep all the required things near you since planting a bonsai tree becomes a really messy job. Preferably, do this outside your home, somewhere like in the garden.

  2. Step 2

Trim the roots of the dwarf coiner tree with the help of the scissors. Do not cut off the roots. Just trim the roots shorter into a round ball.

  3. Step 3

Then wind the wire round the roots. Do not completely cover the roots because the roots need to absorb water and minerals. Wind the wire in a way such that the roots are tight. This restricts the growth of the root which is the main objective of a bonsai.

  4. Step 4

Plant the tree in the tray and ensure that the mud you use is rich in minerals and organic materials. Plant the tree as deep as possible.

  5. Step 5

Trim the branches with the help of scissors to the shape you wish your bonsai to have. Different shapes and structures can be achieved with a little bit of creativity.

  6. Step 6

Ensure the tree gets a good amount of water, light and manure. Trim the branches and the roots periodically to maintain it small size. You will see it mature in no time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try using trays made with different shapes and designs to make the bonsai look beautiful.
  • You can plant vegetable plants to be placed in your kitchens.
  • Be careful with the scissors you use.
