Yahoo! Messenger, one of the most popular instant messengers on the Internet, is constantly updated with new additions and patches coming out every few months or so. However, you may find that a newer version is not working properly with your computer, or you may wish to simply downgrade and install an older version of Yahoo! Messenger. The Yahoo! website does not provide dated versions, but you can find them elsewhere.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Navigate to Yazakpro.com. See the link in Resources, which will provide you with all the patches and versions dating back to Yahoo Messenger 7.5 (the current version, as of the time of writing, Sept. 2009, is Yahoo Messenger 10).

  2. Step 2

Click the older version of Yahoo! Messenger you want to download.

  3. Step 3

Select "Save File" when asked what you would like to do with the fil,e and it will begin to download.

  4. Step 4

Open the downloaded file and the installation wizard will launch.

  5. Step 5

Accept the license agreement (you will not be allowed to install the software if you don't) and follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation process.
