The Neopets Petpet Laboratory is a secret area, where only those with special privileges can gain access. Privileges are granted based on accruing, and using, points called Neopoints. According to Neopets, the Petpet Laboratory can change your pet's color, species and name. The Petpet Laboratory can also gain or decrease your pet's strength levels. Getting to the Petpet Laboratory is not easy, but there is a way.

Sign in to your Neopets account. Make sure you have Neopoints in your account. You can see how many Neopoints you have on the upper right hand corner of your screen. You will need the Neopoints to feed your Neopet and get the Secret Laboratory Map and the Petpet Laboratory Map. You can get Neopoints by playing games and purchasing points, using a credit card or Paypal account.

Get the Secret Laboratory Map. According to DailyNeopets, the Secret Laboratory Map costs 900,000 Neopoints. The catch is, you cannot simply purchase the Secret Laboratory Map from the Neopets store. You will have to find pieces of the map, and the pieces can be everyday Neopets items that can be bought, sold, stolen, and auctioned. However, you can find pieces of the puzzle in the Auction, at Neopia Central. The Secret Laboratory Map consists of nine pieces.

Collect the pieces of the Petpet Laboratory Map. You must have the Secret Laboratory Map before you can start collecting the Petpet Laboratory Map. DailyNeopets states that the Petpet Laboratory Map costs 9,000 Neopoints. The Petpet Laboratory Map also consists of nine pieces.

Go to the Neopets Treasure Hunt after you have all the pieces of Petpet Laboratory Map. You can get to the Treasure Hunt by clicking the games tab, on the Neopets website. Once you are on the Neopets Treasure Hunt page, submit the pieces of the map. You will be granted access to the Petpet Laboratory after you have submitted the map.
