Things You'll Need:
- Trimming line
-
Step 1
Check the power supply for the Craftsman Weedeater. Make sure the unit is plugged in, and the extension cord is working and has not been damaged. If you suspect the outlet is not operating, check for any blown household fuses, and reset the circuit breaker.
-
Step 2
Turn off the weed whacker, and remove any grass from the attachment if it is no longer operating. Make sure while clearing out any bound grass, you have unplugged the Weedeater as well.
-
Step 3
Lock the shift latch into place. Before the Craftsman Weedeater will run, the machine needs to be turned on, and the shift latch must be locked into place by squeezing the handle until you hearing the mechanism click into place.
-
Step 4
Reposition the Craftsman Weedeater if it does not seem to be cutting at the weeds. It should be parallel to the ground, and it should be facing in the direction where the debris is blowing away from the operator.
-
Step 5
Install new line. If the line snaps or fails on the Craftsman Weedeater, you will have to install new trimming line. To do this, push the new line through the holes located on the retention hook. Make sure both sides of the line are equal length. Push the line behind the hook of the trimmer to keep it in place.
