How to Change Protected Music to MP3

How to Change Protected Music to MP3 thumbnail
Legally remove DRM from MP3 files to play them on all your players.

Music files purchased from online music stores such as iTunes, Rhapsody and Napster generally contain a Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection that prevents you from copying and uploading them to some portable players and Web sites. In order for you to use these music files elsewhere, you have to convert them to an unprotected MP3 format. This simple process can be accomplished legally using DRM-removal software without losing audio quality.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install a DRM-removal converter program such as Daniusoft Media Converter and Tunebite. (See Resources.)

    • 2

Launch your program after it has installed, and click "Add." Locate the DRM-protected file from the location you have it saved on your computer, and click "Open" to load it on the source window of your program.

    • 3

Select "MP3" on the "Profile" or "Convert to" window. Adjust the quality settings, and select "Stereo" for a balanced left and right playback on the converted file.

    • 4

Click "Convert" to begin the conversion process. A status bar will display the percentage of the conversion. Double-click your MP3 file to launch it after it has been converted.
