Starting a home health care business in Illinois will require obtaining a license for the type of service that will be provided. Purchase the minimum amount of liability coverage required by the state from a local insurance company and include the Certificate of Insurance with the application. The minimum amount of liability coverage in Illinois is $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate limits.
