Layers are the key to this fall's hottest wardrobe. They add warmth and freshness, while giving versatility, and increasing your personal style. So put that dress back on and follow this step by step guide to layering up your favorite summer dress all year round.

Things You'll Need:

  • Long Sleeve Tee
  • Dress
  • Cardigan Sweater
  • Leggings or Tights
  • Knee high boots
  • Scarf
  1. Step 1

    Layer a long sleeve tee underneath the dress for a totally different look.

  2. Step 2

    Add a cardigan or vest over the top of your dress. Try a bright colored cardigan like purple to really make the colors pop. Since this is the outermost layer, therefore the most visible item, it is also considred the most important layer of the outfit.

  3. Step 3

    Add tights or leggings. Black is a casual and sophisticated color that goes with any and every look.

  4. Step 4

    Put on a pair of wedged knee high boots. Play around with suede, studded, buckled or even a comfy old pair you have lying around until you find a look that works for you. There are unlimited options!
