Step 1
If you have someone in your household that has the flu, isolate them in a room and avoid sharing utensils and drinking cups. They should stop being contagious within 24 hours after their fever has gone down, but you should still take precaution.
-
Step 2
Wash your hands and clean your house regularly. The virus can reach you through your eyes, nose, and mouth; so keeping things clean is a good way to kill any virus that you might touch and transfer to your face.
-
Step 3
Know the symptoms in other people and yourself to avoid contact. If you or someone you know has fever, chills, and a sore throat they could have the flu.
-
Step 4
Know if your at high risk for having complications. If so you should consult your doctor as to whether you should get vaccinated.
