How to Paint On Top of Wallpaper
How to paint over existing wallpaper, and achieve a smooth look - without all the messy and time consuming work of removing the paper! Does this Spark an idea?

Tape off all the edges of the existing wallpaper area where they meet other walls, using Painters Tape. Be sure to press the tape down firmly to prevent bleed through of paint.

Apply paint. Due to texture, age or condition of the wallpaper you may need 2 coats. Apply paint evenly, taking special care around seam lines to keep it smooth.

Allow paint to dry thoroughly between coats, this is the key. If you apply too thick of a coat of paint or the second coat too quickly without allowing sufficient drying time your wall paper may become saturated and start to separate from the wall. If needed apply a 3rd coat to areas of distresses, torn or worn wallpaper or along seam lines to better camouflage the paper underneath.

This should only be attempted on wallpapered areas that are in good condition, without major rips and tears.
