Things You'll Need:
- 1-1/2 to 2 lbs chicken parts
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1-1/2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar
-
Step 1
Heat two tablespoons of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Step 2
Coarsely chop an onion and mince or crush two cloves of garlic. Add the onion and garlic to the pan, with one-and-one-half to two pounds of chicken parts, and cook, turning occasionally, until the chicken is browned all over.
-
Step 3
In a small bowl, combine one and a half cups of ketchup and one cup of brown sugar, and stir until completely blended.
-
Step 4
Add the sauce to the pan, and turn and rearrange the chicken until it is covered with the sauce. Place a lid over the pan, partially covering it. Reduce the heat to medium, and cook until the chicken is done. (Chicken is cooked when it reaches a temperature of 170 degrees registered on an instant-read thermometer, and pricking the meat yields clear juices.)
