How to Measure Area With Google Maps
Measuring the area of your house doesn't have to be a difficult task. Using Google Maps, you can find a rough estimate of the surface area of your home without leaving your computer. The result won't be precise, but using Google Maps to estimate the area of your home is perfect if a rough estimate is all you need.

Go to the Google Maps homepage.

Enter your address into the space provided at the top of the page and click "Search Maps."

Click on your correct location in the left panel.

Click on "My Maps" at the top of the left panel. Then hit "Distance Measurement Tool."

At the top of the map, click "Satellite View."

Draw a box around your house to measure the area. To do this, click on the starting point. Move the mouse (without holding down the mouse button) and click the mouse pointer at each end of the box. Google Maps will draw a box around your house, and the surface area of your house will appear in the left pane. Select either metric or English measurement for the display.
